ALVARÉ

As a writer, editor, art director and producer of electronic and print media, I combine language and image. As a painter, I’m interested in the interaction of color, mark making, hieroglyphs, Chinese calligraphy, Maya codices, Mudéjar geometries, graffiti and so-called asemic writing (that can have zero meaning, or infinite meanings). I am also bilingual and bicultural and often find myself in the space between two worlds.
